24th Birthday

My 24th birthday was yesterday and for the first time in years I was not going to school or work! I was so excited to spend the day doing whatever I wanted to do. :)

I started the day with a 6 mile run at the gym. That afternoon, Deavin, Alicia (coworker and friend), and I went to Airwalk, a large trampoline arena in town. It has a ton of trampolines connected to one another, trampoline dodge ball area, and a foam pit that you jump into from -you guessed it- a trampoline. I had already been to Airwalk once for Elizabeth's bachelorette party, so I knew we were going to have a great time. Let me tell you, it's a sobering moment when you realize that you're getting old and it's actually tiring to jump on a trampoline for an hour straight.

That evening my lovely husband took me on a date to Firebirds, where we ate far too much food, including their fantastic ranch rings and cheesecake. :o)

My day came and went far too quickly, but I knew that Saturday was going to hold a little more fun. From my understanding, Deavin and I were going to go out to eat with my parents for our family birthday celebration. We would meet them at their house around 2, hang out, and then decide where we wanted to go.

To my great surprise, Deavin and so many of my wonderful friends and family had planned a surprise (Disney!) birthday party for me. Minnie Mouse plates, Disney streamers, princess birthday banners, and crowns were all over the house. It was like the childhood princess birthday party I never had! I had a great time and was truly surprised to see who came. I felt so loved!

Opening gifts. GIFTS!? I can't believe this...

They had already left.

Just a little bit of the decor.

We have a similar picture to this that was taken on my 20th birthday. Briggs just looks a little heavier...ha.

Yay!

Thanks so much to my family & friends for this special day. I never know how to take surprises, but I am so grateful for each and every one of you and your presence in my life. A big thank you to my fantastic husband Deavin for dreaming all of this crazy stuff up. You know exactly what I love.

Here's to a happy and healthy 24th year.

March

Apparently I haven't done so well at keeping up with my blog.

For starters, go here to see my photography post on Elizabeth and Ben's wedding on March 16th. I really enjoyed all of their wedding events; we had so much fun. I really meant to write that post on this blog and share the photos I took separately on my photography blog, buuut that didn't happen...

The Hershel situation has dramatically improved, at least according to me (Deavin has other opinions). After two painful weeks of keeping Hershel's cone on, the sutures were finally removed and the cone was left at the wayside. Hallelujah! He's been doing very well and thoroughly enjoys running after Ava and Wilford. In fact, I'm pretty sure his three legs are faster than Wilford's four. Hershel has an insatiable appetite and is relentless when it comes to bed time. He feels the need to be wherever we are, especially when we are laying down for bed. Deavin has been slightly annoyed by the big guy lately because he's been keeping him awake. I, however, have somehow slept through his twilight antics. :)

Considering I feel like I work every major holiday (at least every Christian holiday, that is), it was no surprise to me that I was scheduled to work on Easter. Great. Fortunately, it was a very slow (rare!!) day for us and we were able to eat candy and have an Easter egg hunt. It was pretty entertaining, but certainly can't beat being at church and spending time with the family.

Now, for a few photos to highlight the month of March...
