Hershel the Cat

Well, here's Hershel after his leg amputation and neutering. We picked him up from the vet on Thursday afternoon and that night was miserable. He looked so pathetic and we were overwhelmed. Deavin and I both spent the night in the living room floor with him. He kept me awake most of the night, which severely stressed me out because of having to work on Friday for 12 hours.

He had a really hard time getting around at first, considering he was used to working with four legs, and he was in pain. He's quite needy, enjoys being held, and wants to eat whatever I have. It's like having a feline Briggs...

Ava and Wilford aren't crazy about Hershel by any means. Wilford tolerates him while Ava hisses, growls, and avoids him at all costs. Hershel goes through these crazy periods where he randomly gets highly pissed and has a meowing fit. He gets a little better as each day passes, but this whole living-in-a-one-bedroom-apartment-with-three-cats thing is not ideal.

He will get his sutures removed a week from this Thursday and I cannot wait. He'll finally be able to get rid of the nuisance cone around his head and not have anything to try to rip out of his side!
