Road Trip: Nashville/Chattanooga

The morning of Friday, February 8th, Deavin and I headed toward Nashville, TN with another couple, Nick and Raven, to see the Heavy and Light tour presented by To Write Love On Her Arms. Our main focus (or mine, at least) was to see the always wonderful Jon Foreman, but I ended up falling in love with several other musicians, including the band Now, Now, Bryce Avary, and Aaron Gillespie. We found the venue, The Cannery Ballroom, early that afternoon of the show, but we noticed tour buses around the place and decided we would stick around in the parking lot and see if we could spot Jon on his way in. By some crazy twist of fate, we were able to meet Jon and get a picture with him. :) :)

Two of my favorite guys ever!

After the show, we got back in the rented gay car, a Kia Soul, and drove to Chattanooga to spend the rest of our weekend. We arrived at our hotel around 1 or 2 AM and were all exhausted.

Saturday was spent at Rock City (my first time to ever go) and exploring downtown Chattanooga. We were able to watch some really awesome glassblowing (iGNiS glass gallery and studio), which inspired Deavin and Nick in a future business endeavor. Apparently this inspiration was enough for Deavin to order a blow torch...? I digress.

Sunday, our last day, came way too quickly, we we still had a quite a few fun things left to do. We started the day at Shoney's (a winner of a day already), then headed to the Tennessee Aquarium. I have a pretty hard time deciding if I love the penguins or otters more, but I think the penguins win. ;)

...And we goofed off, of course.

We finished our Chattanooga trip with some Cheeburger Cheeburger and set off for rainy Birmingham. I'm definitely ready for the next road trip now.
