Saturday we took it pretty easy. We ate at an interesting little place in the next town, had dinner at the house, and talked a while that night.
Sunday morning, we woke up early and went to church. PePaw is a pastor in a retirement community in Kerrville, TX, and had asked Deavin to preach on our trip. Their was this precious elderly man I could have just taken home with me. A doll, really. After church, we went to Mamacita's and ate with Kenny, CoCo, and Kayla (their daughter/Deavin's cousin). It was my first time meeting them, despite sleeping at the house two nights before...They were away and Kayla was the only one home. They drove to MeMaw and PePaw's house after lunch and visited for a few hours. Of course, old photos were brought out and everyone had a good laugh.
Monday was awesome! We were determined to find a horse for me to ride. Despite having parents that live near many horses, I had never had the opportunity or time to ride a horse. And, for the crying out loud, I am in Texas. What better place is there to ride a horse than in Texas? We went to Bandera, TX, the Cowboy Capital of the World, and found a ranch where Deavin, Chelle, Kenneth, and I were able to ride on a trail for an hour. I had a lot of fun!
Tuesday, our final day with MeMaw and PePaw, ended up being a half day of more exploration. We went to several small business shops in Ingram, and I regret not buying a dress at one of the cute boutiques there (sorry, Deavin. You were probably right). We also went to a general store and post office in Camp Verde, TX to eat lunch. Sounds like a strange place to stop to eat, sure, but it was surprisingly very, very good.
Around 5 Tuesday evening, we sadly left MeMaw and PePaw's house and headed back to Houston. We didn't want to make a straight 16 hour drive back to Birmingham, so we figured we may as well break up our trip again and left Houston at 6 AM (sharp!) on Wednesday.
It was a fun trip, and I really hated that we had to leave. However, we'll be able to see everyone again, plus another part of the Brigman family, in Tennessee after Christmas for Ryndi's wedding.

I miss feeding the chickens! They had about 10 chickens, 10-15 pigeons, a quail, 3 doves, 50 parakeets, and 3 turkeys.
I love this photo. This is looking up at the house from their field of yellow flowers.
